Minnie is the show planner, bookkeeper, and is responsible for much of the club's day-to-day administration. Whenever things go awry for the club, she is usually the one who gets things back in order.
Outside The Series
Minerva "Minnie" Mouse is a funny animal cartoon character created by Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney. The comic strip story "The Gleam" (published January 19-May 2, 1942) by Merrill De Maris and Floyd Gottfredson first gave her full name as "Minerva Mouse." Minnie has since been a recurring alias for her. Minnie is currently voiced by actress Russi Taylor. Both Minnie and Mickey were first drawn in 1928 by Ub Iwerks.
The comic strip story "Mr. Slicker and the Egg Robbers" (published September 22 – December 26, 1930) introduced her father Marcus Mouse and her mother Margie Mouse, both farmers. The same story featured photographs of her grandparents Marshall Mouse and Matilda Mouse. Her best known relatives, however, remain her uncle Mortimer Mouse and her twin nieces, Millie and Melody Mouse, though most often a single niece, Melody, appears. In many appearances, Minnie is presented as the girlfriend of Mickey Mouse, a close friend of Daisy Duck, Donald Duck's wife (or girlfriend), and occasionally a friend to Clarabelle Cow. Minnie's sister, Mandie Mouse was a recurring character early on.
Personality
Minnie is a very sweet-tempered and lovely person, is known for having a motherly side, and is often the voice of reason among her friends. She is able to remain calm in times of crisis, typically making her one of the most reliable members of the group. Despite this, she can get frustrated rather easily in certain circumstances, such as with Clarabelle's gossip and when Mickey forgets about their dates.
Physical Appearance
Minnie wears her employee uniform to fit with her occupation where it differs from her trademark dress and large bow. Her uniform consists of her white long sleeved shirt with a round neckline, a black sleeveless shawl collar blazer, a matching pencil skirt, white pantyhose and purple high heel ankle boots with fold-over cuffs. She wears a small purple bow at her left ear.
Like Mickey, she would be wearing alternative outfits to fit with the holiday event, e.g. Halloween or Thanksgiving.
Trivia
- Minnie's voice actress, Russi Taylor, was married to Mickey's voice actor, Wayne Allwine. Due to Allwine's death in 2009, she was widowed until her death in 2019.
